1. Since the nozzle ring operates continuously in a high-temperature exhaust environment exceeding 800°C, it must be made from a special high-temperature-resistant alloy.
2. Eliminate turbo lag: Reduce the flow area at low speeds to enhance turbocharger response.
3. Broad Operating-Condition Adaptability: Achieves optimized matching across the entire operating range, from low to high speeds.
4. Fuel Economy: The engine’s speed–load map covers a broader range of low‑fuel‑consumption operating conditions.
5. Emission Control: Precisely regulates exhaust backpressure to support the operation of the EGR system.
6. Engine braking: Auxiliary braking can be achieved by closing the nozzle ring to increase exhaust backpressure.
